BUSH POETRY

Post  Wild Pony on Mon Oct 06, 2008 9:45 am

I've been the holder of some pomes by a lady out in the Australian outback for about 8yrs now, well I've managed to trrack her down and the great news is, she has given me permission to read her poems out on air!
The lady in question is Janine Haig and she has two books and an audio CD of her work.
I had the books given me by my uncle when he was at Yowah prospecting opals, and they can be purchased via Opal Hut at www.opalhut.com.au/
The titles are I Hope Yer Sheep Get Flyblown and Always Wear Clean Knickers!
I think you may have gathered that she doesn't follow Keates, Coleridge or Sassoon, be prepared for a giggle with her bush poetry, taken from life with a family on a sheep station in the Queensland bush.

Enjoy! bounce bounce bounce
