Another Place is a poem from my journal
Another Place
If I were another person, I'd be in another place
If I were another person I'd live in a land
where heather the color of rain grows on every
mountain top, shallow glen and twain.
If I were another person, I'd awaken in the morning to the sounds
of small village life so quiet and calm and free of strife.
I'd live in a land far away.
A land where you see highland cattle grazing on fresh hay.
Scotland is where I'd be if I were another person.
I'd walk the shore of the tiny loch,
As the eider dive and climb with their treasured morsel,
only to drop the tasty mussel onto the rocky shore,
then dive to reclaim their breakfast.
I'd live in a land where milk is delivered to my door
in glass bottles long before I am awake.
If I were another person, I'd breakfast on
fresh baked rolls, creamy butter and a hot cup of tea.
I'd live in a land where my cares are few,
I could write, read and walk in the rain
only to run to my ivy-covered cottage again.

That is beautiful, Anna. I can feel your longing for your homeland in your words, which is one of the marks of a true poet.
